UGI Corporation, through its subsidiaries, distributes and markets energy products and related services in the United States and internationally. The company distributes propane to residential, commercial/industrial, motor fuel, agricultural, and wholesale users; sells, installs, and services propane appliances; and installs and services fuel systems for motor vehicles.
It also distributes liquid petroleum gas (LPG) to residential, commercial, industrial, agricultural, and motor fuel customers principally in Europe for space heating, cooking, water heating, process heat, forklifts, transportation, construction work, industrial processing, and autogas applications, as well as provides logistic and storage services to third-party LPG distributors.
In addition, the company distributes natural gas to approximately 568,000 customers in Pennsylvania counties through its distribution system of approximately 11,900 miles of gas mains; and supplies electricity to approximately 62,000 customers in Pennsylvania through approximately 2,120 miles of transmission and distribution lines, and 13 transmission substations.
Further, it markets natural gas, liquid fuels, and electricity to approximately 9,000 commercial and industrial customers in the eastern region of the United States under the trade name GASMARK. Additionally, the company operates a natural gas liquefaction, storage, and vaporization facility; propane storage and propane-air mixing stations; rail transshipment terminals; and electric generation facilities, including solar facilities in Pennsylvania.
It also manages natural gas pipeline and storage contracts, as well as develops pipelines, gathering infrastructure, and gas storage facilities. Further, the company owns and operates heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and electrical contracting service businesses serving customers in the Mid-Atlantic region. UGI Corporation was founded in 1882 and is based in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.
